Chromach-san was indeed a very dangerous person, but she agreed to help clear out the undead as promised.
That said, it was difficult for her to purify such a large number of undead on her own.
So, first, I created cemeteries here and there.
〈Cemetery: A bright and beautiful graveyard. Prevents tombstone weathering. Prevents grave robbery. Prevents undead transformation. Guarantees peaceful rest.〉
Apparently, ordinary undead will be purified just by stepping into this cemetery, so all that’s left is for Chromach-san to herd the undead into it.
To be precise, it wasn’t Chromach-san who guided the undead, but the Lich.
While Chromach-san would have to make them her subordinates individually to control them, the Lich, as the King of the Undead, could easily command the undead to follow its orders.
Maybe it was a good idea not to purify the Lich and just make it Chromach-san’s subordinate.
"Why do I have to do this!?"
"Shut up, you damn Lich! Just shut up and do as I say!"
Chromach-san, hair flying wildly, repeatedly strikes the Lich with a whip.
"I’d rather be purified than be controlled by this kind of thing!!"
In no time at all, the undead were gone from this entire region.
"U-um... this place is...?"
"My village."
"T-there are so many people... It's lively... Everyone is so bright and seems so happy... No matter how I think about it, this doesn’t seem like a place for someone like me, who’s so gloomy..."
I had brought Chromach-san to the village.
Apparently, the image she had of a "village" was shattered as she was overwhelmed by the sight of the village, which had now turned into a large city. She hid her face completely behind her long bangs.
The reason I brought her here was simple.
Leaving Chromach-san and the Lich unchecked was dangerous in many ways, so I thought it would be better for her to be somewhere within my sight.
"I-I’m going to die... If I stay here... I’m going to die..."
However, it was unrealistic for her to live here normally.
Her face had already turned as pale as an undead, and she looked like she might die and truly become an undead at any moment.
"It’s okay. I’ve got just the place."
I said this and guided her to the dungeon.
From the twenty-first to the twenty-fifth floor.
This floor was a graveyard with undead monsters wandering around.
"Ugh, the air... It feels so good... I was suffocating to death earlier, but now it’s fine..."
To me, it’s a place that feels dreary and would make me depressed, but apparently, it’s an ideal environment for Chromach-san.
"Huh? I-I can live in such a nice place...?"
"Yeah. I’ve already informed the Dungeon Master, Arie. You can treat the undead here however you want. I’ll bring you food regularly."
"R-really!? You’re being so kind to me... I-I can’t help but feel like there’s some trick behind this..."
"There’s no trick, really?"
...There is, though.
"Sometimes adventurers come by, but the place is big, so you’ll rarely run into them. Just don’t fight with them, okay?"
"Of course, if that happens, I’ll run away with all my strength!"
And so, Chromach-san (and the Lich) ended up living in the village’s dungeon.
By the way, the Lich always looks like it’s dead. Well, it is dead.
"U-uh... Hehehe... Lich-chan? L-let’s live happily together here, okay?"
"Why is this happening...?"
"Why aren’t you answering?!"
"Eeek... I-I understand, Master!!!"
