Since I was now able to create new high-speed rail, I decided to replace part of the existing railway with it.
To create a high-speed rail from scratch, it would require 200 points per certain distance, but if I upgraded the existing railway to high-speed rail, I could save 50 points per upgrade.
I temporarily suspended the railway operations and, with the full mobilization of shadow doubles, we quickly progressed with the work.
Basically, all long-distance routes that cross national borders would be converted to high-speed rail.
On the other hand, local routes within the country would remain as regular railways.

The high-speed rail was completed, and I gathered the core members of the village at the underground station to showcase it to them.

Once everyone was seated in their chosen spots, the Shinkansen slowly started moving.

"Yeah, it is. The Shinkansen has very little vibration and is really quiet, so you don’t even realize you’re moving."
Since it's running underground, the outside is completely dark.
It’s no wonder they don’t feel the movement.
"But we’ll come out above ground soon. Look."

As the train burst out from underground and the view of the outside became visible, everyone screamed in unison.
"The village is disappearing so quickly!"

And just like that, the train quickly dove back underground.
The high-speed rail network now had five routes in total.
One route left the village, heading east, passing beneath the mountain range, and went through the capital of Edow Kingdom, continuing to the capital of Kyo Kingdom.
Another route left the village and headed south, passing through the oasis of the Embara Kingdom in the Rubul Desert, and continued to the capital of Osaku Kingdom.
One route headed west from the village, passing through Ateri Kingdom, Spell Kingdom, Boan Kingdom, and Metore Kingdom, traveling along the northern coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
One route went west from the village, connecting to the capital of Loda Kingdom.
And finally, the last route headed south from the village, passing through the capital of Barlist Kingdom, crossing the strait, and connecting to the southern Mediterranean countries.
In fact, the railway was also going to be connected to countries like the Tunya Kingdom, which were once under the Empire’s control.
There were only minimal stops along the way.
Of course, from major stations in each region, many regular train lines branched out.
As a result, the trip to Loda Kingdom, which used to take about ten hours, was now shortened to just four hours.
