The number of people visiting the village’s grand cathedral has increased.
And it's not just a small increase.
Inside the cathedral, there are several chapels, and it should be able to accommodate 30,000 people at once. Yet, it was always packed to the brim, and there were even long lines in the square in front of the cathedral, with people waiting their turn.
"Hey, isn't this a bit too much? It feels like this village is becoming a sacred place or something...?"
The number of visitors from various parts of the kingdom and from the Kyo Kingdom had always been high, but recently, there has been an increase in visitors from other countries as well.
Of course, there are more people coming for tourism and business, but the number of people visiting specifically for the cathedral seems to have increased at a much higher rate.
Since the capacity was completely overwhelmed, I decided to use copy-and-paste to create an identical cathedral on the opposite side of the village.
"Oh! An exactly identical cathedral has appeared in an instant!?"
"What is this... Ah, this must be the power of the gods..."
Seeing this, the visitors kneeling on the ground began to cry tears of joy.
I don't think it's anything that impressive, though...
In addition, I decided to build a dedicated hotel near the cathedral for them.
"Now there are multiple buildings!"
"It must be the work of the gods..."
Hmm, they keep getting overly emotional...
Naturally, the number of settlers also continued to increase rapidly.
The village expanded as we moved the castle walls, and new apartment complexes were being constructed.
I can't fully keep track of it anymore, but there are probably already close to 200,000 people who have settled in this village.
If you include the people staying for worship or tourism, the number could be around 300,000.
"Even the royal capital of Celtia only has 50,000 people! What's going on here?"
It feels like a long time ago when it was just me and Milia, and we had only one small hut.
It’s only been a little over two years since then.
The reality of that fact made me shudder.
Then,
〈Pam-pakapaan! Congratulations! The population of the village has exceeded 10 million, and the village level has increased to 14!〉
〈As a level-up bonus, you have earned 100,000,000 village points.〉
〈New facilities can now be created.〉
〈The village area has expanded.〉
〈You have acquired the skill “Shadow Double Generation II.”〉
"What, it leveled up already!?"
I was greatly surprised, despite having gotten used to level-ups.
I had just recently leveled up to 13.
"As the level increases, it should get harder to level up, right? This is almost the fastest level-up ever..."
But when I thought about it, I remembered that just recently, I had registered the citizens from several countries, including Loda Kingdom, into the village, and it had already reached around 9 million people.
Originally, it was supposed to be a temporary measure until the Empire's invasion was stopped, but after that, I received requests from various countries asking to keep the registrations.
In other words, I was already in a position to level up with just around 1 million more people.
"Wait, but how could 1 million people increase all at once...?"
High-Speed Rail (200)
Shinkansen Cars (1000)
Arena (3000)
Village Council Hall (3000)
Large-Scale Farm (5000)
〈High-Speed Rail: A road for running Shinkansen trains. Can transport people and goods quickly in large quantities. Has a monster approach prevention function.〉
〈Shinkansen Cars: Vehicles running on the high-speed rail. Includes toilets. All seats are non-smoking.〉
〈Arena: A facility for combat. Includes an instant death prevention function. Features automatic monster spawning.〉
〈Village Council Hall: A facility for the village council. Let’s reflect the public’s opinion properly and create a better village!〉
〈Large-Scale Farm: A vast agricultural land. Increases crop growth speed and quality. Comes with agricultural machinery.〉
These are the new facilities that can now be created.
"Shinkansen..."
Long-distance travel that crosses national borders has become almost commonplace now.
But with the previous railroads, we had to ride for long periods.
Recently, between this village and the royal capital of Loda Kingdom, it still took almost ten hours, even at full speed (about 150 km/h), without any stops.
Well, even so, it’s incredibly fast by the standards of this world.
"Alright, let’s replace part of the current rail system with Shinkansen."
